Urban planning sits between long-standing problems and new technological promises. AI is expected to solve climate change, mobility, housing shortages, and urban identity all at once – a mythical cure-all. The lecture explores why cities cannot be generated by algorithms alone, but emerge from human experience, craftsmanship, and everyday life. AI can support this process, but it cannot replace what truly defines a city.
