Whether you travel to the fair with public transportation or by plane, train or automobile: digitalBAU is always quick and easy to reach.
Get a first impression of the digitalBAU exhibition grounds. Detailed information on the halls, exhibitors and products on display at the trade fair can be found under Hall plan.
Arriving by tram or underground, lines 1 and 9: “Bahnhof Deutz” station. From the platform at this station, follow the signs for the entrance west.
For moving around the city, public transport is by far the best option. The local public transport network is called KVB.
Ten major highways connect to the autobahn ring around Cologne. Once on the ring, your route to the exhibition center is direct – no traffic lights, no junctions. Just follow the signs for “Koelnmesse”. Around the exhibition center itself a dynamic traffic routing system directs you straight to the parking areas.

Vehicle admission for visitors
Important note for exhibitors! For security reasons, vehicle access to the site during set-up and dismantling is restricted. Drivers must present a work permit. Work permits can be ordered free of charge in the Exhibitor Shop.
By rail with Deutsche Bahn, “Köln Messe/Deutz” station (distance from Koelnmesse: approx. 300 m.). We recommend you get out at the “Köln Messe/ Deutz” station. From here, then follow the signs to get to the entrance west.

The Cologne/Bonn airport is just 60 minutes flying time away from major European cities such as Copenhagen, Munich, Milan and Zurich. The exhibition center is easy and quick to reach from the airport.
Destination: Cologne (then take a taxi to the entrance west)

For residents of all countries where a visa is required to enter the Federal Republic of Germany, we set up our own visa service.
Generally speaking, residents of countries in the EU do not require a visa to enter the Federal Republic of Germany.
To ensure you obtain your visa before the trade fair starts, we recommend that you submit your visa application in due time. Applications can be made as early as three months before the time of entry.
An up-to-date list of all countries that do and do not require a visa is available from the German Foreign Office. Specific visa requirements for your country can be found on the websites of the German Missions abroad.
In a directive transmitted per e-mail in July 2013, the German Foreign Office has informed the German Embassy and Consulate Visa Sections all over the world that in general, an official invitation letter from the trade fair organizer is no longer required when applying for a trade fair visa. Moreover, visa fees are waived for exhibitors at German trade fairs.
When applying for your visa, simply refer to this information. In case the visa section responsible for issuing your visa should nonetheless request that an official invitation letter be presented, please send an e-mail to: visa@messe-muenchen.de
