Lecture description
How can machine learning support architectural design, digital fabrication, and circularity? Prof. Thomas Wortmann will answer this question with research results from the Cluster of Excellence Integrative Computational Design and Construction for Architecture at the University of Stuttgart. He will discuss computational methods such as digital twins and machine learning and their applications to building representation, material-informed design and fabrication, and multi-actor fabrication and human robot collaboration. These examples will show that specialized ML models offer a wide range of potential applications in architecture and construction that go far beyond the currently popular language models.
