Lecture description

In digital planning, construction, and operation, data are gaining increasing importance. It is no longer enough to generate information; it must be understood, shared, and used. Many organizations encounter limits of existing systems and familiar structures. Open data ecosystems provide the foundation to enable data sovereignty, interoperability, and collaboration across all project phases. This will succeed only if IT competence, project and requirements management, and domain knowledge in construction, operation, digitization, and BIM work together. The greatest challenge lies not in the technology but in the culture. It requires openness, mutual understanding, and the willingness to view knowledge and data as a common asset to be developed further together.
