Lecture description
OpenBIM as an open standard (e.g., IFC) can provide the foundation for interoperable data communication in timber construction. It enables all project participants to exchange 3D models and information, from planning through to fabrication. This optimizes collaboration, reduces errors, and increases efficiency in the erection of sustainable timber buildings. To ensure this, process interfaces and data deliveries between the involved stakeholders must be worked out.
